Intersect Palm Springs 2022
Palm Springs Convention Center
February 10-13, 2022
Enjoy our select coverage of the impressive contemporary works on view during Intersect Palm Spring 2022. Bolstered by curatorial visions and a variety of stunning gallery collections, the overall artistic selections on view contributed to an upbeat atmosphere as an antidote to challenging contemporary issues.
The weekend was filled with Good Vibrations, which is also the aptly title exhibition collection organized by Shana Nys Dambrot and Hunter Drohojowska-Philp. It offered an expanded view of geometric abstraction as it has evolved in Southern California from the 1950s to include the properties of light and the emotional and transcendent uses of color.
There was an equally impressive exhibition called Zzyzx Redux, organized by Bernard Leibov, and presented with support from The Art Collective Fine Art Services. It was inspired by the remote corner of the Mojave Desert which demonstrates the full cycle of modern Southern Californian desert history: from Indigenous trade route to gold rush era federal fort to railroad outpost to a much hyped health resort and finally an environmental research station.
Intersect Palm Springs is a boutique fair that brings together a dynamic mix of modern and contemporary art and design galleries, and is activated by timely and original programming. Formerly known as Art Palm Springs, it has been running since 2012.
